Making the decision to use an impact driver
You probably know that a drill driver such as the SF 2-A12 is a great all-round tool. You may not have known that an impact driver produces higher torque, in a body that is more compact and lightweight, making it a perfect complement to a drill driver or hammer drill.
The motor delivers its torque in quick rotary bursts using an impact action of the gearbox which is automatically applied when the tool encounters resistance. The result is delivery of power that helps to protect the operator from hand/arm injuries by transferring most of the force downward.
The Hilti advantage
The SID 2-A12 impact driver uses a 1/4" hex chuck (a type of quick-change clamp) to hold a range of impact-rated hex bits that stand up to the force exerted by the impact driver.
The comfortable handling, ergonomics and improved control provide you with easy driving into a range of base materials from wood, masonry and concrete to metal. The SID 2-A12 is available with a broad range of accessories for applications including:
- Driving self-tapping screws up to 4.8 mm diameter in metal
- Driving sharp-point wood fasteners up to 6 mm in diameter
- Driving drywall screws
- Driving HUS 3 and 6 screw anchors with short embedment depth in masonry and concrete
- Driving screws in HRD frame anchors up to 8 mm diameter in masonry and concrete
All Hilti cordless tools come with a 20 year warranty, 2 years of no cost wear-and-tear coverage and a 3-day repair turnaround. So even if your SID 2-A12 is out of action, we’ll take care of it – fast.
